Carthage

On July 21 we stopped in Carthage before making the drive to Omaha, Nebraska. It was a short stop, but a very significant one as far as Church history goes. The boys got to go in Liberty Jail where the Prophet Joseph and his brother, Hyrum, spent their last days. We sat in the room they were in when the mob came and listened to a reinactment of the Prophets last hours. It was a great way to start the day!

The door is original and still has the bullet hole in it that hit Hyrum.

Joseph Smith's testimony. It's worth clicking on the picture to read!
