Spencer

I don’t know many 2 year olds that have more than one best friend, but Tyler is one of them. Normally at this age we moms pick our kids friends, but there are a couple of kids Tyler has chosen himself. Spencer is one of those kids. He was born 3 weeks after Tyler, and 3 weeks early. I'm convinced these two were attached at the hip in the pre-existence and after 3 weeks apart Spencer decided he had waited long enough and couldn't possibly wait 3 more weeks to see his friend again! His family moved to Tennessee earlier this year, but they were back in town visiting for Thanksgiving. They spent the day with us yesterday. We had so much fun visiting, and the boys had a blast! Here are some pictures from our visit...

All about Tyler...

I am constantly amused by what comes out of Tyler’s mouth. Here are a few examples:

- In the middle of dinner he’ll puff out his stomach and tell us he’s full.
- “Oh yeah! Super duper!” I don’t know where this came from, but he sings it over and over as he dances around.
- “That’s my favorite!” I wonder if he actually knows what the word favorite means when he uses it to describe food he’s never had!
- “I not mean to.” Of course it was a complete accident when he sat on his brother!
- “This good daddy! You save the day!”, he told Matt one night at dinner.
- His favorite phrase is “Ok, you say so!” and his favorite question is “What’s that noise?”

I got Tyler these footed jammies because lately winter has come to Florida and his feet are always cold in the morning. Had I not checked on him before I went to bed this night, more than just his feet would have been cold the next morning. When I went in his room he was fast asleep and completely naked! His new jammies were in a ball at the foot of his bed, and his diaper was on the floor. I found the whole scene rather amusing and went to get my camera, but Tyler was sitting up in bed when I got back. I asked him where his jammies were and he told me, "I take them off, they scratching me". Looks like those jammies are going to the Goodwill, luckily I only paid $2.00 for them!

Apparently it was going to be a while!

He was suppose to be watching TV while I took a shower, instead he got into my make-up!

He is such a joy! I am so lucky to be his mom!

Another good-bye...

For the second month in a row there has been a going away party around here, a trend I sincerely hope does not continue! As much as I love having parties, I really hate saying good-bye to people! This time the party was for the Rosen's who relocated to Naples on Friday, all the way on the other side of Florida! We're really going to miss the Rosen's! Manda had her son, Joel, just 2 months after I had Tyler. (When I was pregnant with Tyler I had plenty of company, 8 other women in my ward were also pregnant!) We wasted no time scheduling our first play date, which involved the boys nursing (then spitting up on us) while we enjoyed some adult conversation. Our afternoon chats made the early months with a new baby much more enjoyable, and helped me maintain my sanity. We have had a lot of good times over the past 3 years, trips to the park and beach, countless get togethers, ward activities, girls nights, and more baby showers than I care to admit to! Now the boys are 2 ½ and they are also best friends! It's been fun watching them grow up together! Here is a look back at Joel and Tyler over the past 2 years…

Better late than never...

Happy Belated Birthday Lechelle!!! I can't believe we first celebrated your birthday together 9 years ago! Hopefully Kelly made you a cake that was as good as the one we made you freshman year!

Lechelle helped me find my wedding dress, which only took 4 hours!

Riley's Girlfriend

Riley has a little girlfriend and her name is Shilo. I know he's not suppose to date until he's 16, but don't worry they have only been on 'group dates' with their parents! Don't they make the cutest couple?!?

They first met when Shilo came to visit Riley in the hospital! They were both very excited, can't you tell?

They're a little bigger now, they can almost sit up!

Shilo was only suppose to be 1 week older than Riley, but she decided to come early and is 2 months older! He still out weighs her by almost 2 lbs!

Holding hands, sort of!

Riley's Check-up

Riley went to the doctor today for a check-up and he got a clean bill of health! He now weighs 12 lbs 11 oz. The doctor confirmed what my friend told me about his belly button, it's an umbilical hernia. Nothing to worry about, in fact it wasn't even swollen for the doctor to see! He was a little trooper when he got his shots, he only cried for a second. Tyler was coaching Riley through the shots, telling him, "You ok buddy." He was just happy we were at the doctor for Riley and not him!

Good morning Riley!

Happy Halloween!!!

Even though Halloween is officially only one night, the boys got to wear their costumes three different times. We got our money’s worth! Here is how we celebrated… on Wednesday we attended our wards fall festival. We didn’t see much of Tyler that night because he attached himself to one of the young men, Justin. He even wanted Justin to take him trunk-or-treating! I walked around with them but was clearly the third wheel! It was nice getting to relax and socialize during the party though, so I really can’t complain. Thursday morning the library had a special Halloween story time and the boys wore their costumes again. After the stories and a puppet show the kids got to walk through the library to show off their costumes. And of course on Friday we went trick or treating. We went with our friends, the Rosen’s, in their neighborhood. The kids didn’t really know what was going on at first, but by the third house they had the hang of it and couldn’t get to the next house fast enough! They were so cute! We had a great Halloween!

Trick-or-treating is hard work! Josh and Tyler needed a break in order to make it home, which was 3 houses away!
