For you, mom!

Since it's been forever since I last posted I decided it would be faster to link to pictures on my facebook page than trying to play catch up!

The princess is turning 2 next week, I'll try and put up a post shortly after! :)

18 months

My baby girl is 18 months old now! She may be petite in size (23 lbs 4 oz) but she has a BIG personality! She doesn't come out of her shell right away when she is around new people, but once she does she turns into the biggest ham! Here is a glimpse of Madison at 18 months:

*Her 3 favorite things are shoes, purses and phones. Shoes: If she sees a pair of shoes she WILL try them on. She never seems to get tired of dragging all my shoes out of the closet and trying each pair on! Those shoe holders at kids play places are torture to Madison, it's like putting an alcoholic in front of an open bar. I think she would be in heaven in a shoe store, but in order to avoid a meltdown when it's time to leave I'll wait and take her next time she needs a new pair of shoes! Purses: She LOVES purses! She found one of my small ones a while back and carries it around all the time. Anything she can put on her shoulder she will, ie- Tyler's lunch box, a plastic pumpkin, even underwear she's snatched from the boys drawer. Phones: Madison is constantly 'talking' on my phone. In fact she thinks every time I'm on the phone she is suppose to get a turn. Even if no one is on the other end she will either sit on the couch or walk around babbling away. She even pauses from time to time like she's listening, then starts babbling again. My favorite thing is when she's having these conversations and then starts laughing. It's amazing to see how much she mimics us!

*She is a complete mama's girl. She will get upset if I go upstairs without her, even if daddy is with her. She also cries if someone else puts her down for a nap, or to bed. Luckily she calms down pretty quickly once I'm out of sight.

*Her vocabulary now consists of dog (gog), duck (guck), go, hi, bye, please (peas), mama and daddy.

*She is now old enough for nursery at church, and so far it's been a hard transition for her. To put it mildly she is not a fan! Once she stops crying she will cling to one of the nursery leaders and won't let them put her down. I think she will be ok once she gets to know them.

*She loves to 'color' and she holds pencils and crayons the right way.

*She is always bringing me books, but is more interested in turning the pages than listening to the story.

She is stubborn and strong willed, but she's also a very sweet addition to our family and we love her!

A gift from my mom.

My mom saved some of the outfits I wore as a baby and gave me one when we were visiting at Christmas. It now fits Madison! This little outfit is in really good condition considering how old it is! Thanks mom!

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Hi, my name is Diane and I had a problem! I was completely addicted to Shutterfly. It all started back in December when we got the kids picture taken with Santa and I got a $10.00 gift card to Shutterfly. I went to their website to see what I could make and decided to create a photo book for my mom. I sorted through the thousands of pictures from our massive road trip and organized them into a 32 page book. I was so excited to give it to her for Christmas! She loved it! I loved it so much that I decided to start making my blog into books. I started with 2011 and working on that book completely consumed me. I was staying up until 2:00 AM every night, skipping the gym, letting Riley watch WAY too much TV and pretty much neglecting all household duties. I knew it was bad when I was annoyed that I had to stop to use the bathroom! When my first book came in the mail it all seemed worth it, I had a whole year of our lives neatly organized into a book. Not only did it include all of my favorite pictures, it had all the commentary from my blog. We finally had a family scrap book! After finishing my second book I realized that although this was a good thing, I needed to do it in moderation! So now I'm working on the rest (I want one for every year starting with 2005, which is going to take a while!) at a much slower pace. Here is the main reason my blog has been so neglected this year:
